Awakening
MYTHIC IMAGINATION
An Eco-Depth Yearlong Program
Coming August 1st, 2025
Earth, isn’t this what you want? To arise in us, invisible?
Is it not your dream, to enter us so wholly
There’s nothing left outside us to see?
What, if not transformation
Is your deepest purpose? Earth, my love,
I want it too… Believe me,
No more of your springtimes are needed
To win me over—even one flower
Is more than enough. Before I was named
I belonged to you. I see no other law
But yours, and know I can trust
The death you will bring.

- Rainer Maria Rilke, from the Ninth Duino Elegy
"The meta-crisis we are facing today across the planet—ecological, political, psychosocial and even spiritual—is ultimately a crisis of perception. At the root of this crisis is our severance from a sensuous and sentient world, and a corresponding loss of mythic imagination that once seduced us into a profound belongingness within a world that is innately meaning-filled and alive. In the beginning, our own style of participation in this world-making magic was understood as a sacred partnership within the very processes and powers of the dreaming Earth itself... Today we are only beginning to recognize how much has been lost. We are only beginning to perceive how the loss of place-names and animate language, stories and myths, corresponds with our present catastrophic loss of species biodiversity."

"The loss of wild Earth’s abundance is nothing less than the loss of a wild and wise planetary imagination. In the developed world of late-stage predatory capitalism, we have experienced a rapid impoverishment of our own sensuous perception and visionary imagination which first emerged in the primordial darkness of the world’s origins. The war against the sensual animacy of nature is also a war against the imagination. To lose our relatedness with even a single species is to lose the prayers and songs, the sacred stories and myths that attend that particular livingness and the whole ecology of living relationships that sustain it—in short, loss of relatedness is a loss of world."
"My desire is to help others perceive the unique longing that the world has for you - to find your voice, your niche, your place of belonging - not as an individual, but the unique way the world has dreamed you into relation with everything else. This discovery might feel like a kind of memory, or re-membering... the kind that vibrates deep in the body like a swarm of bees. And not just the physical body we usually identify with, but the porous Earth-body of the land–and the honey-scented imagination of the world itself that longs for you to enter and lose yourself entirely. Lost. This kind of remembering might shift your worldview, your sense of who you are, of what the world is, and decompose your old images of the divine." - Matt Syrdal, Mythic Christ Mystery School

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE YEARLONG?
5 day intensives
Each module begins with a 5 day intensive. The cohort meets online three days: Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday for a total of 10 hours. Thursday and Saturday are flexible asynchronous days to practice guided invitations and a contemplative wander in a semi-wild place.
Mentoring
Each participant may schedule two complementary one-on-one mentoring sessions with the lead guide per module. Mentoring is focused on wholeness, Self-healing, and developmental soul work.
Cohort gatherings
The Cohort meets online every other week for a total of four sessions for 2 hours each gathering. The structure includes: a grounding practice, guided meditation or deep imaginal journey, a teaching, poetry, group work, sacred art practice, and a closing invitation for the week.
Practicum
After the four modules are complete in the late spring. Participants work with the lead guide to co-create a practicum that includes: coaching for ongoing support of nature-based soul work; and/or a project with goals to integrate learning into one's context.

The online format reduces carbon footprint and travel costs, inviting participants to more fully live into the tension between an animate world and the extractive frameworks of industrial society.
The yearlong will expand your worldview and awaken a deeper love and reverence for the world.
1. Is this yearlong right for my life?
A sense of longing for the mysteries of nature and the soul, a feeling that you have outgrown your worldview, a deep curiosity about your true self and an unsettling sense of calling, are all indicators that this yearlong might be the place for you. A personal allurement to religious mysticism and symbolism, ecology and indigenous mythology, and a hunger to encounter the deep imagination of the world, while in a supportive community are also clues. Preparatory questions will help guide you through an application in your discernment process.
2. Who is this program designed for?
In short, spiritual seekers of various backgrounds who are dissatisfied with the pervasive self-help consumer culture and the civic religion of their denominational experience. Folx who are longing for transformation and integration, but haven't found a community of depth, intention, practice and compassion. There is a broad allure to the yearlong program from disillusioned Christian pastors, professors and psychologists, and 'mystics' seeking to discover ancient wisdom from their own ancestral lineages. There is no religious affiliation required, simply an open-minded attitude ready to explore the perennial mysteries and a desire for cultural renewal toward a more just, life-enhancing society. Experience with mentoring and inner-work, wholeness, dreamwork, therapy, or other eco-spiritual, nature-based programs are strongly encouraged as prerequisite to the yearlong program.
3. Will the structure and time commitment fit with my busy schedule?
The online Eco-Depth yearlong program is a commitment. That said, it is flexible with program recordings to catch if you missed, podcasts, readings, downloadable content, and practices to do on your own time. Time requirement: Each module begins with an intensive (x 4) that is about 10 hours online over the course of three days, with practices on your own. After each intensive, there is one 2 hour online gathering per week (alternating between the group cohort and triads) over the course of eight weeks, before a break after which the next module begins. With readings and practices you can expect 2 hours online, and 2-3 hours reading or practicing on your own each week. The exact times of the intensives and cohorts will be confirmed with the final
4. Is the online format actually transformative?
Yes. The online format offers several layers that connect with the depths of one's psyche, creating a surprising level of authenticity and intimacy in the group field. One strength of the program is to develop in participants over the period of a year, a deep sense of belonging to place: its history, ecology, and interiority through downloadable guided imaginal journeys, dreamwork on the land, and deep time mythwork. The zoom format connects participants and bioregions across the globe for an added depth of communion with the greater Earth community.
5. How can I learn about logistics and payment options?
The dates and general time frame of the first two intensives are determined, but the specific time frame will be finalized when the yearlong get's closer to being confirmed. RSVP'ing for our Online Q & A's are the best way to answer logistical questions in general. Once space fills up as participants register (across different timezones), we will have a logistics call to finalize times of intensives and the bi-weekly cohort gatherings. The cost of the yearlong is $3,299. It is a certificate program, and the cost covers a large amount of preparation and logistics work, content curation, practices, learning, mentoring, coaching, and more. The deposit is included in the total cost, and payment plans are available to make it cost effective over the 2025-2026 calendar year. There is also limited scholarship money available, need based, upon application.
