simple habits for re-enchanting our place
“Being A Person” - William Stafford
Be a person here. Stand by the river, invoke
the owls. Invoke winter, then spring.
Let any season that wants to come here make its own
call. After that sound goes away, wait.
A slow bubble rises through the earth
and begins to include sky, stars, all space,
even the outracing, expanding thought.
Come back and hear the little sound again.
Suddenly this dream you are having matches
everyone's dream, and the result is the world.
If a different call came there wouldn't be any
world, or you, or the river, or the owls calling.
How you stand here is important. How you
listen for the next things to happen. How you breathe.
My gratitude to the Jung Platform for inviting me to offer a workshop called: Spirit of the Land. I was personally so inspired to meet a community of folks joining from all over the world around a topic that is also close to my heart. Participants typed into the chat all the astonishing and unique places they currently live and were joining from and later the places, landscapes, and beings they feel connected to and love... and it felt like a kind of living prayer rising up, a poem to Earth that is ongoing amidst climate catastrophe. It was moving and personally gave me hope. It is also a testimony to the creative psychospiritual edge that the Jung Platform represents, and of course the vision of Machiel Klerk, author of Dream Guidance.
I am offering self-paced online self-guided course "Connection With Place & Reciprocity" with downloadable practices as a way to introduce foundational and experiential perspectives that can help us deepen into relationship with the places we live and love. As a token of my gratitude for your support of this work in the world, paid subscribers to my Substack will receive free access to this self-guided program that includes:
Practices you can do at home: "Living Field Awareness"
In your area/neighborhood: "Walkabout"
On the land wander in a natural place
A guided imaginal journey
Resources for Further Exploration
Be well and be wild,
